A Note About Additional Tags

For my titles, AO3 removed some of the capital letters. Is it possible to put them back?

If you wouldn't mind telling me what the titles were (with the right capitalization), I can definitely try to see if entering them in the tagset from my end will keep the cases correct. Since it's AO3 changing the capitalization though, I can't guarantee it will work - sorry about that!

"Rpad to the Abyss" should be "Road to the Abyss". My nom form glitched a bit and the drop-down from the first form field was persistent, covering up the form fields below, and I didn't manage to catch that typo when I reviewed the nom form after I submitted.

Possibly a silly question, but: Can I give permission for the person assigned to me to use different capitalization for the title than what's in the tag? I'm having a similar problem as cat2000, and I wouldn't want someone to avoid using a title just because AO3's pre-set capitalization is a bit bizarre.

I think it would be fine where AO3 changed the capitalization of a tag that you nommed.

If it was someone else's tag, I wouldn't be sure if they wanted the capitalization that way (even if it seems odd) or if it really was AO3 acting behind the scenes.

I'm considering making a new post later today where anybody who's had their nommed titles' capitalization changed by AO3 can comment with what they meant that tag to be. Hopefully, that might make it easier to keep track of these things. Any other suggestions, please feel free to let me know!

Ah, I didn’t realize it would be a problem if a title someone else nominated ended up capitalized differently on a gift for me. I've never participated in an exchange like this before, so I'm probably a bit culture blind here, sorry!

But in that case, an official corrections post probably makes the most sense. It’s sort of the opposite of what I personally was hoping for, though – I was hoping to spend less time worrying about capitalization issues, rather than more. Obviously, if there aren’t a lot of tags affected, it’s not a big deal! But if it ends up being a long list, would you consider making an alphabetized version or something, to make it easier for everyone to check if any of their recipient’s tags need to be capitalized in a different way than they are in the assignment?

Thank you for the suggestions, and no worries at all! I might be playing it too safe when it comes to capitalization, but an official corrections post seems like it could be nice just for the sake of transparency on my end.

By no means do I want to make it a worry to figure out capitalization; capitalization according to the tagset is always OK (no need to check the comm!) even if AO3 changed the original nom. The extra post will just be a place to keep track of intended capitalizations that anyone can also opt-in to in their AO3 signup. I will definitely update corrections in that post in alphabetical order as they are mentioned! The corrections post should be up soon. I'm sorry for the roundabout way of addressing your question, and thank you for the patient and helpful response.

Is bonded by arrangement a tag or a title, I tried to look up the lyrics because I got curious but couldn't find a song?

This one isn't an AO3 freeform, if that's what you mean by tag. I guess someone thought the title up without inspiration their Spotify! ;) It does sound like it would fit well in a song, though.

Same with this one; it doesn't show up as a freeform associated with any works when I search the AO3 tag cloud. (Here, if you're interested.) Haha yes, for the most part any obvious canonicals such as "Action/Adventure" were rejected, but a few one- or two-word tags were accepted since they seemed like they could function as good-faith titles, too. A blurry line! All that is to say, thank you for taking interest in the event, and for trying to keep with the theme :D
